Originating from Japan, my journey into the world of Ponz art began in Darwin, Australia. The catalyst for this creative endeavor was a memorable encounter one night when I stepped outside and discovered a large green tree frog perched on the armrest of a chair. I was immediately taken aback by its impressive size. As I reached out to touch it, its indifferent demeanor astonished me even more. Before long, I found myself feeling a deep affection for this little creature. With a hobby of clay art already under my belt, the desire to capture the essence of that frog in my work surged within me. This moment marked the roots of Ponzai art, intertwining my love for nature and creativity. In Darwin, reptiles, particularly crocodiles, are a significant part of the landscape. However, after moving to Queensland, I encountered an abundance of unique mammals that also inspired my art. Australia, with its diverse and extraordinary wildlife, continues to provide endless creative stimulation for me. The vibrant birds and various fish species are constantly reminding me of the beauty that surrounds us.Every piece I create is handcrafted with deep care and passion. As I pour my heart into the small details of each sculpture, I hope to evoke a smile or a chuckle from those who view my work. It is this joy and connection that I aim to share through Ponz art, celebrating the whimsical and delightful aspects of nature.
